Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was a student for three years at the Royal Academy of Music London in 1970s, was accepted. Lennox was able to live by surviving on a student stipend, as she worked part-time. Lennox, while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, was not happy with her performance in comparison to her peers. She started to think about different options. Lennox played flute in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. But she quit shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. She was the lead singer in The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. It was here that she met Dave Stewart and together they created The duo Eurythmics. Lennox then began to work on her first solo album Diva that was out around 1992. The album had a tremendous success both commercially as well as critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs Six solo album that was released in October 2014 is Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favorite blues and soul tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four piano improvisations was published by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. The E.P. is her first self-produced album as well as a follow-up to her art work made at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let you go... Annie Lennox is a Scottish artist and singer born on the 25th of December 1954. The Tourists had a minor success in the late 1970s. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, went on to achieve international fame in 1980s with the Eurythmics. In 1992, Lennox began her solo career with her debut album Diva with a variety of successful tracks, including Why and Walking through Broken Glass. Medusa is the album she recorded as her first studio album in 1995. It features cover versions of songs like No MoreI I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six studio albums of her own as well as a compilation album, are at her disposal. |
